Carol Ann Beffel

Jul 19, 1939 – Jul 12, 2013

Racine – Carol Ann (nee: Urbush) Beffel, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 12, 2013.

Carol was born in Racine on July 19, 1939 to the late Anton and Joan (nee: Zalewski) Urbush. Following graduation from St. Catherine’s High School in 1957, she went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Dominican College (Racine).

On May 9, 1964 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church (Racine), she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Charles E. Beffel. Carol worked for Attorney Rex Capwell at Capwell & Foley Law Office until her son, John, was born. She left the law office to fulfill her dream of being a full-time mom.

Carol was a faithful member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Among her interests, she was a talented seamstress with tremendous attention to detail (phenomenal at sewing- having made most of her own attire).  She also enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling, and a good game of cards. Above all, Carol cherished being in the surroundings of her family and friends – especially her nine beloved grandchildren.

Surviving are her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Chuck; dear son and daughter-in-law, John and Marisa Beffel; nine treasured grandchildren, TJ, Lexi, Mike, Andy, Traci, Cristi, Ricky, Teddy and Kelli; brother, Robert T. (Sue) Urbush; brother-in-law, Raymond Beffel; niece, June (Vincent) Costanza; other special relatives and friends – too numerous to mention by name.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her niece, Carrie Urbush; sister-in-law, Gail Beffel; and by Chuck’s parents, W. A. “Bill” and Catherine Beffel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 11:00 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 9:30 – 11:00 am. In memory of Carol, memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church have been suggested.

Testimonials

The Brehm and Kapellusch Families

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for making our father’s funeral a beautiful celebration of his life. So many people commented that it was the best funeral they had ever attended! We can’t say enough about Mark Langendorf’s professionalism, his attention to detail, and ensuring that my father’s funeral went smoothly from start to finish. After the funeral, he was always available for any questions and concerns my mother had. He handled all post-funeral details. Our dad would be very happy to know it went so well.Thank you so much, Mark.
