Carolyn Susan Cagle

May 24, 1950 – Apr 17, 2011

Carolyn S. Cagle, 60, died at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – All Saints on Sunday, April 17, 2011.

She was born in Queens, NY on May 24, 1950, the daughter of Martin and Helen (nee: McDonough) Byrne.  On January 6, 1969, she married Roger W. Cagle.

Carolyn was an avid reader and found joy and reward in teaching reading as a volunteer with the Racine Literacy Council.  She also enjoyed her quiet time crocheting.  However, she was happiest when in the presence of her family.

In addition to her husband Roger, her survivors include her children, Christine Cagle of Racine, Mark (Michelle McMullen) Cagle of Merrill, WI, Scott (Trisha) Cagle of Phoenix, AZ, Shannon (Andrew Vance) Cagle; her grandchildren, Tevin and Teren Cagle, Nicole and Breann Cagle, Daniel Cooper, Dominic Cagle, Myla, Colin and Carson Cagle; one brother and two sisters; as well as brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and dear friends.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Family and friends are invited to gather at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. for a time to pay respects and visit with the family.  There will not be a service to follow and a private interment will take place at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.

Testimonials

Joyce Peterson, Larry Swanson, Jeryl Medlin, Troy Swanson families, Nellie Heieren, Lisa Swanson, Alyssa, Kayla, and Tyler

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for all the kindness and sincere expressions of sympathy that you extended to us during the loss of my son, Todd Swanson. We appreciate all the extra special things you did to help us through this very difficult time. We didn’t have to think ahead, we just had to be there while every little detail was taken care of by you and your staff. This made an impression on everyone that came, and I will never forget it. Thank you from all of us.
