Cecile P. Tempesta, 93, passed away peacefully in the Ridgewood Care Center, on Thursday, August 22, 2013, with her family at her side. She was born in Racine on June 29, 1920, the daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline (nee: Glinecki) Jarzomski.
On January 20, 1940, in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Arnold Tempesta. They celebrated 51 years of marriage until his in death on May 12, 1992. Mrs. Tempesta had been employed by the Pet Milk Store for many years. She was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and later St. Lucy Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking for family occasions and holiday parties. She had a great sense of humor. Most of all, family was her number one priority.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Sue Tempesta, of Racine; grandchildren, Laura (Pete) Reynolds, Lisa (Paul) Drdak, Donny (Heidi) Tempesta, Julie Tempesta, Michael Tempesta, Geno Perkins, and Jennifer (Joe) Willems; great-grandchildren, Jake and Ben Reynolds, Austin and Allison Drdak, Franni, Grace, and Mikey Tempesta, Alex and Ava Tempesta, Frankie, Bradley, and Madelyn Perkins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, and beloved husband, Mrs. Tempesta was preceded in death by her daughters, infant Pamela Tempesta, and Rita Mae Perkins; sister, Marcianne Sadowski, and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Her memorial service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 29th, at 6:00 p.m., with Rev. Mark R. Jones, officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Private entombment will take place in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Society’s Assets.
The family would like to thank Society’s Assets, Cecile’s homecare aides, Minnie, Phyllis and Stacy, and the staff of Ridgewood, for making her last days comfortable.
