
RACINE – Mr. Chester ‘Chet’ Layman, 64, died unexpectedly in St. Mary’s Medical Center on Wednesday, December 21, 2005. He was born in Terre Haute, Ind. on January 14, 1941, the son of the late Lloyd and Grace (nee: Lucas) Layman. On October 7, 1961, he married the former Marilyn ‘Sue’ Ziner at the Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Terre Haute, Ind. Mr. Layman worked for Moxness Products for over 20 years, reaching the position of Vice-President. He presently worked as the Nighttime Supervisor for Pilot Travel Center. He was an avid Packer fan. However, his greatest pleasure came from the time spent with his family. Surviving are his devoted wife, Sue; children, Doug (Joleen) Layman of Racine and Brad (Christa) Layman of Franklin; grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, and Justin; brother, Richard Layman; sisters-in-law, Mary Layman, Maxine Layman, and Janice Layman, all of Terre Haute, Ind.; brother-in-law, Steve (Kim) Ziner of Reelsville, Ind.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to his parents, his three brothers, Lloyd, Jim, and Gerald Layman, also preceded him in death. His Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, December 26, 2005, at 7 p.m. with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
