
Claire (nee: Mazzulla) Ricchio age 97, passed away in the Becker Shoop Center on Thursday, February 7, 2013. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 25, 1915, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (nee: Fallico) Mazzulla.
On July 18, 1931, in St. Lucy Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Elmer F. Ricchio, who preceded her in death on January 21, 1985. Mrs. Ricchio had been employed by the A&P Tea Company for over 38 years, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church, a former member of Holy Name Catholic Church, and the Christian Mothers. Mrs. Ricchio had been a volunteer at the Becker Shoop Center, the Westview Nursing Home, and the St. Luke’s Hospital Gift Shop for over 11 years.
Surviving are her children, Elmer C. (Shirley) Ricchio, and Nancy Jarosz, all of Racine, 10 grandchildren, Frank Jr. (Vicki) Jarosz; Thomas (Jean) Jarosz; David (Jane) Jarosz; Gregory Jarosz; Mariclare (James) Thomason; Gino (Gloria) Ricchio; Charles (Barbara) Ricchio; Theresa (Glenn) Michaelis; Anthony (Juli) Ricchio; and Christa Lofquist; 31 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Steig; brothers; James Mazzulla, and Frank Mazzulla; infant sister, Dorothy; and infant brothers, Frank, Albert, Tony; and son-in-law Frank Jarosz Sr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16th with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Private entombment will be held at Holy Cross Crypts, Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to St. Lucy Church or the American Heart Association.
