Racine – Claudia T. Konieczko, 92, received the promise of eternal life on Friday, November 2, 2012. She was born in Kenosha on June 30, 1920, daughter of the late Julius and Sophie (nee: Juskiewicz) Klauss.
Claudia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Frank P. Konieczko, on November 28, 1942, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Kenosha. Frank preceded her in death on October 21, 2009.
Claudia worked for St. Luke’s Hospital in the central processing department until she retired in 1982. She had a clever wit and always loved to tease. She will be remembered as a gentle and generous soul. Claudia enjoyed cooking, especially some of her favorite Polish dishes. Above all, she adored her family and treasured the time she spent with them. Claudia will be dearly missed.
Claudia leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Thomas F. (Sue) Konieczko of Racine, Frances “Sue” (Dennis) Kuncytes of Racine, Michael J. (Peggy) Konieczko of Racine; grandchildren, David Konieczko, Brian Konieczko, both of Racine, Chris (Erin) Kuncytes of Bolingbrook, IL, Nick (Angie Baus) Kuncytes of Racine, Kevin (Courtney Krueger) Konieczko, Sarah (Drew Brouwers) Konieczko, both of Racine; great-grandchildren, Logan Konieczko, Audrey Kuncytes, Sammy Kuncytes; sister, Florence Berry-Wilson of Green Bay; sister-in-law, Sophie Woitach of Racine; and other nieces, nephews, dear relatives, and friends too numerous to mention. In addition to her husband, Claudia is preceded in death by her infant son, David; sister, Ernestine Zaleski; and brother, Raymond Klauss.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 5, 2012, 6pm, at St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Avenue, with Rev. Ronald Gramza officiating. Visitation will be from 4pm until the time of the service. Interment will take place on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, 11am, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the WFH-All Saints 3rd floor and hospice staff, Home Harbor, Lincoln Village, Mary Kanyuh, our “angel” Angie Baus, and the many neighbors for the love, care, and friendship they have given to Claudia and Frank over the years.
Kathleen Dombrowski says
Tom, Susie and Michael, My sympathies are with all three of you and your families. There are just too many great memories from our neighborhood to mention. We need to reconnect.
