Dale "Doc" L. West

May 29, 1935 – Mar 9, 2010

Mr. Dale L. West, 74, died at his residence on Tuesday, March 9, 2010.

He was born in Niagra, WI on May 29, 1935, the son of the late George and Dorothy (nee: Sprecksel) West.  He moved to Racine when he was 16 years old.  On February 21, 1956, he married the former Ruth Hansen.

Mr. West worked with his father at West & Son Service Station and Western Printing before joining J.I. Case Corporation in 1969.  He retired as a salesman in 1991.  After his retirement from Case, Mr. West worked in sales for Triebold Implement from 1991 -2004.  He loved his work in sales and received great satisfaction from “wheeling and dealing” with the many customers, friends and relationships he developed over his career.

In addition to his work, Mr. West enjoyed his time spent fishing in Canada.  An avid fisherman, he treasured the trips he shared with many of his family and friends; especially with his brother, Don and cousin, Gerald.

In addition to his wife Ruth, he is survived by his daughter, Stacey (Tony Rivera) West-Rivera; son, Jason West; grandson, Tyler J. West; sister, Carole Sue West all of Kenosha; sisters-in-law, JoAnn (Bill) DeClute of LaCrosse, Ila West, formerly of Racine; cousins, Gerald Morin and James (Betty) Morin, Diane Carlson all of Niagra, WI, Sherry Hackman of Kenosha; as well as many other relatives and dear friends, including his breakfast buddies who will miss his daily presence at the Sturtevant Hardees. In addition to his parents, Mr. West was preceded in death by an infant sister, Delores and his brother, Donald West.

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday evening, March 12, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. for the celebration of his life and funeral service.  There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Friday from 4-6 pm. A cremation will follow the service and a private interment will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested.

All of us at Triebold Implement will miss Doc’s visits. He was always ready to trade you out of that old piece of equipment and into a newer one.

I worked with Doc for 13 years and he was a great person and a good friend. We had many fun full lunches together. I will miss him. May he rest in peace.

Dale was a terrific salesman and we were able to attend many reward trips because of his salesmanship at the Sturtevant store. My thoughts are with the family.

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

After the passing of our loved one, the time came to make the arrangements for his funeral and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more kind and caring as Mark was. He picked up on all the little details and things we held close to our hearts and made the celebration of this wonderful man’s life very special. Even playing taps along with the honor guard, Mark we can’t thank you enough…our heartfelt thanks go out to you and the staff.
Sincerely, THE GENE GRABHER FAMILY

Linda
