Service Details

Graveside services, with military honors, will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 12:00 noon in Calvary Cemetery (2510 Kinzie Avenue Racine, WI  53405) with Fr. Terry Huebner officiating.

Mount Pleasant – David John Hall, age 84, passed away peacefully at Hospice Alliance – Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, WI on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

David was born in Racine, WI on June 7, 1939 to the late Gorman T. and Gertrude C. (nee: Baggott) Hall. He was a 1957 graduate of Cotter High School in Winona, MN and went on to attend St. Mary’s University. David served our country worldwide with the United States Marine Corps for 24 years, 1958-1982, retiring as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. Following, David worked for the military as a civilian contractor for 20 more years, mainly for the US Navy.

While stationed in Japan with the Marines, Dave met the love of his life, Fusae Katsuzawa. They were married on May 28, 1962. His heart was broken when Fusae passed away on August 14, 2008. Dave lived in California for over 40 years before moving back to Racine in 2016. Among his interests, David was an electronics guru who loved to stay current with all types of news.

Surviving are his brother, Thomas (Pat) Hall; brother-in-law, George Mueller; 18 nieces & nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Lou (Gene) Cramer, Dorothy “Joanie” Hall and Katie Mueller; and brother, James “Bill” (Carol) Hall.
