Dean M. Nees

Oct 12, 1946 – Aug 31, 2011

Dean M. Nees, 64, lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Dean was born in Racine on October 12, 1946, the son of the late Marvin and Lorraine (nee: Holler) Nees.      Dean was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School Class of ‘64 and

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside. He also attended Carroll College in Helena, MT. On October 1, 1966, he married the love of his life, the former Pamela Hanson. As a young man, Dean worked with his father in the family concrete business until completing college. He then had a career in automobile sales. He worked for several local dealers until achieving his dream of owning his own dealership, Holiday Motors. Dean had several passions in life; golf (especially the Maplecrest Dawn Busters), Notre Dame, the Cubs, and the Detroit Red Wings. He was a golf historian and practices game constantly, even when he was confined to bed. He truly loved his spoiled Maltese dogs, Louie and Maxine…

Surviving are his wife, Pamela; their children, Holly (Larry) Kroes, of Racine, Heide (Joshua) Garcia, of Milwaukee, and Joel (Ann Linstroth) Nees, of Racine; grandchildren, Leah, Chloe, Logan, and Noah: great grandchildren, Isaiah, Gunnar, and Chance; brother, Dale (Barb) Nees of Racine; sister, Dyann Nees, of Sturtevant; mother-in-law, Jean Hanson, of Burlington; sisters-in-law, Betty (Dennis) Tully, of Burlington, and Annette Davis, of Madison, his loved, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Bob Hanson.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, September 3rd, at 3:00 p.m., with his brother, Deacon Dale Nees officiating. Visitation will be held, in the funeral home, on Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorials will be accepted to establish a memorial at a late date.

The family would like to thank everyone who made Dean’s

last days a little easier, especially his devoted Hospice nurses,

Mary and Debbie, and CNA, Joan.
