Milwaukee – Deris Martell Reeves, age 32, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee on December 13, 2020.  

Deris was born on December 4th, 1988 to Brenda Lee Shepard-Whitehead and Harvey Lee Reeves in Racine, WI at St. Luke’s Hospital. Deris received his education at J.I. Case High School and later graduated from WCTC with a certification in Masonry. Deris was employed at General Mills where he enjoyed working with his hands. Deris was a fun loving, giving, funny, happy, and outgoing person. Deris enjoyed bringing laughter to his family, friends, and anyone he encountered. He would always brighten up the room with his amazing smile. Deris enjoyed spending time with his family, cracking jokes, playing basketball, making music, and boxing. Most importantly Deris loved being with his three beautiful children who were the loves of his life. 

Deris leaves to cherish his memory, his beautiful children, Rhysaia Thomas, Derisona Reeves, and Deris Reeves Jr.; his grandfather, Jimmy McFarland; his loving mother, Brenda Lee Shepard-Whitehead; his grandmother, Oletha Reeves; his father, Harvey Lee Reeves; his brothers and sisters, Kayonta (Cassie) Shepard, Andrew Allen, Andrea Allen, Desmond Crawford, Anastasia Shepard, Raydell Miller, Javon Miller, and other siblings; his aunts and uncles, Larry Whitehead, Luther Whitehead, Faye Brown, Michael Shepard, Carolyn (Kelley) Burriel, and Jackie Shepard on his mother’s side, Carolyn Stewart, Evelen Stewart, Shirley Reeves, Melissa Reeves, Annette Reeves, Michael Reeves, and Randy Reeves; his special cousins, Antoine Waldrop, Marquita Waldrop, Nitasha Whitehead, Octavia Sanders, Brittany Sanders, Adrian Sanders, and Dequon Snow; as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Deris was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bernice Whitehead; his grandfather, William Pete Reeves; his big cousin, William (Dolla Bill) White; and his best friend, Larry Charles Steele Jr.

    Deris was a good hearted person, funny person I loved being around him when he lived in Racine he loves keep smiles on people face….I want to send my condolences to the family
