Dessie "Dee" Fowler

Jan 24, 1946 – Dec 4, 2011

Dessie "Dee" Fowler, 65, of Kenosha, formerly of San Diego, CA, passed away at 8:50 P.M. in St. Catherine's Hospital after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Born January 24, 1946, in Ogden, UT, daughter of Lawrence Dee Conshafter and Mary (Neokratis) Hunt. Worked as a librarian, secretary and in retail. Most recently loved her work as a volunteer at St. Catherine's Hospital and made many wonderful friends there. She loved playing Yahtzee with her grandchildren. Survivors include: son James Randolph "Randy" (Tammy) Chiek Jr of Manteca, CA;, daughter Tammy (Roger) Myers of Racine, WI; and son Ryan Fowler of Pacoima, CA. Grandchildren: Heather, Cody, Brianna, Mitchell, Logan, Lance, David (Amy), Kellie (David), John, Koral, Jessica, Jacob, Justine, and 3 adorable foster grandchildren. Brothers: Fred Conshafter of CA and Philip (Ruby) Hunt of Stockton, CA; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and step-father Laurence Lee Hunt.  The family wishes to thank the incredibly caring staff of The Manor Care rehabilitation home and the compassionate staff of St. Catherine's ICU unit and her numerous doctors for fighting this battle with us.

Dee wished to be cremated. Memorial service on Wednesday, December 21, at 7 p.m. at Living Light Christian Church, 6102 – 39th Avenue, Kenosha. Refreshments to follow. Dee wanted a celebration of life full of color, so there is no need to wear black. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the family.

Dearest Tammy & to the Family of Dee, We were truly blessed to have had the chance to know Dee although the time was cut too short. She was a wonderful room-mate at Manorcare to our mother Dolores. She gave her that extra push she needed and help to keep up her spirits. She was a joy to talk to and had a wonderful sense of humor. We were all very sad to hear of her passing, but she most definitely touched our lives. We regret we are unable to attend the service but we will get in touch with you next week as we would like to send a memorial to the family. Our deepest sympathies and prayers. Dee will truly be missed. Mary, Kathy, Dolores & Leonard Parise

My family and I would like to thank you and your staff for all the kindness and sincere expressions of sympathy that you extended to us during the loss of my son, Todd Swanson. We appreciate all the extra special things you did to help us through this very difficult time. We didn’t have to think ahead, we just had to be there while every little detail was taken care of by you and your staff. This made an impression on everyone that came, and I will never forget it. Thank you from all of us.
