Donald Orville Foss

Jun 15, 1942 – Jun 17, 2013

Racine – Donald Orville Foss, age 71, passed away unexpectedly at home in his sleep on Monday, June 17, 2013.

Don was born in Racine on June 15, 1942 to the late Orville and Charlet (nee: Radtke) Foss. On February 20, 1965 in Pentecost Evangelical Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage with his childhood sweetheart, Kathy Diane (nee: Heck) Foss.

Don was employed by the JI Case Company for over 25 years, retiring in 1992. He was a faithful member of Pentecost Lutheran Church where he enjoyed volunteering his time – especially playing his guitar at services and helping with the funeral lunch committee. Don was an accomplished musician who loved playing his guitar whenever he could. He also liked to shoot pool. Above all, Don loved providing and caring for the needs of his entire family.

Surviving are his loving wife, Kathy; their children, Jeffrey Foss and Valerie Foss; brother, Rodney (Diane) Foss; sister, Linda (Bill) Porter; sisters-in-law, June Revai-Kolonick and Judy (John) Klapat; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Gloria (Frank) Rock; brothers-in-law, Joe Revai and Walter Kolonick; nephew – of whom was his God-Son, John Rock; and by Kathy’s parents, Bob and Olga Heck, Peter and Anna Slesarenko.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 11:00 am in Pentecost Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2213 Coolidge Avenue, with Rev. Luke Jacob officiating. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 10-11 am.

Testimonials

Helene Hellesen

Bill’s service was beautiful, beyond belief. Leslie was priceless in all she did. Gary, knowing Bill for many years, said a few words at the service. The special touched I didn’t expect warmed my heart. Two very, very special people helped make a sad day into something very special.

Thank you to all those that helped behind the scene, setting up, opening doors. My heart is full.

Bless you.
