Donald Robert Stolfi, Sr.

vet
Aug 5, 1925 – Nov 29, 2012

Kenosha – Donald Robert Stolfi, Sr., 87, formerly of Racine, received the promise of eternal life on Thursday, November 29, 2012.  He was born in Dunmore, PA, on August 5, 1925, son of the late Joseph Francis and Domenica Marie (nee: Covello) Stolfi, Sr.

Don was married to the love of his life, Helen Marie Baker, on January 13, 1949, in Endicott, NY.

Don proudly and faithfully served his country during WWII as a Quartermaster in the United States Navy.  He entered the Navy on June 16, 1943, in Endicott, NY, and was discharged on April 13, 1947, in Norfolk, VA.  In 1951, the Stolfi’s moved to Wisconsin to raise their family.  Don was a machinist for 35 years at Snap-On Tools, Inc., retiring in 1986.  He was a member of the Snap-On Tools Recreation Club, Lodge 34 Machinists Union, Roma Lodge, and a volunteer for Boy Scouts Troop 400.  Don especially loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Don leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 63 years, Helen Baker Stolfi of Kenosha; son, Donald R. (Patti) Stolfi, Jr. of Kenosha; daughter, Jacqueline (Tom) Huston of Jonesboro, IN; daughter, Joanne (Kenneth) Hotchkiss of Kenosha; son, Thomas (Rebecca) Stolfi of Kenosha; son Michael (Theresa) Stolfi of Racine; thirteen grandchildren, Gretchen Bush, Jason (Kristine) Stolfi, Sr., Scott (Jennifer) Stolfi, Kenneth Stolfi, Craig (Sarah) Huston, Audrey (Rick) Fireline, Anthony Hotchkiss, David (Marie) Hotchkiss, Deanna (Jim) Rossi, Kimberly Hotchkiss, Jacob Stolfi, Jessica Stolfi, Justin Stolfi; twelve great-grandchildren, Frankie, Mariah, Jason, Jayden, Betty, Brandon, Seger, Journey, Esther, Abigail, Dominic, Adriana; sister, Lucille (Al) Sagan of Bakersville, NC; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.  In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his son, John Stolfi; brothers, Joseph Stolfi, Jr., Louis Stolfi, Gerald Stolfi; sisters, Carmella Pitarra, Catherine Stolfi, Anna Mae Builder, and Josephine Burke.

A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road.  A private memorial service and interment at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery will take place on a later date.  The family has suggested memorials to Epiphany Lutheran Church in Racine.
