
Racine – Dorothy Rae Martin, 71, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, July 16, 2010. She was born in Ecru, Mississippi on February 6, 1939, daughter of the late Peter and Emma Lou (nee: Johnson) Judon. She was a lifelong resident of Racine.
Dorothy was a dedicated homemaker for her 16 children, and also worked as a housekeeper at the Sienna Center. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, watching her favorite movie, “The Color Purple”, cooking, and caring for her grandchildren. She was an enthusiastic member of Full Gospel Disciple Church.
Dorothy is survived by her children Yvonne (Earnest) Daniels, Ann Pope, Toni Martin, Linda Grandberry, Lonnie Grandberry, Calvin Martin, Koren Martin, Darvin Martin, Nathaniel Grandberry, Shelia Martin, Patricia Grandberry, Michelle Martin, John Martin, Alcinder Grandberry, Jermaine Martin, Tiffany Grandberry. Dorothy is survived by one brother John Judon and one sister Nellie Shaw. Dorothy is also survived by 62 Grandchildren and 67 Great-Grandchildren.
Homegoing services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2010 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. John Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-7p.m., and in the church beginning at 10 a.m until the beginning of service.
