Dwyn Lorraine Castle

Jul 10, 1932 – Nov 30, 2009

Racine – Dwyn Lorraine Castle, 77, passed away at the United – Kenosha Memorial Hospital on Monday, November 30, 2009. Dwyn was born on July 10, 1932 to the late Warren and Genevieve (nee: Toutant) Castle. She received her primary education at Holy Name School and graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1951. Dwyn was employed by Western Publishing for over 33 years, retiring in 1995. As an accomplished musician, she taught private music lessons from 1952 until 1973 and was a proud member of the local Musicians Union from 1961 until 1970. Dwyn also played accordion with a group of ladies called the Capperettes. They played regularly on a Milwaukee TV station on the “Marvin Moran and the Malone Sisters. Dwyn was a lifetime member of Holy Name and St. Richard Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Western 30 Year Club. Dwyn was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed cheering on the Brewers, Packers, Bucks and Badgers; and was a Disney fanatic to say the least. Above all, she loved nothing more than being in the surroundings of all her entire family. Surviving are her nephews and niece, James (Julie) Kramer, Linda (Jack) Kramer-Betz; and Daniel (Marian) Kramer; great-nieces, Jessica Kramer and Janae Plunkett; great-nephews, Jacob and Benjamin Kramer; other dear relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Dwyn was preceded in death by her brother, Bro. Richard Victor Castle; and sister and brother-in-law, Jeannine and Harold Kramer. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 7:00 pm with Rev. Roman Stikel officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday (tonight) from 5-7 pm. Private burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital has been suggested. A special note of thanks to the entire staff of Woodstock Care Center for the compassionate care and support of Dwyn during these past few years. May God bless all of you!
