Edward R. LaFave

     Edward R. LaFave, 77, passed away in the Wheaton Franciscan Hospital-All Saints on Friday, August 30, 2013. He was born in Green Bay, WI

on November 24, 1935 the son of the late Alfred and Rozella (nee: Dobbs) LaFave.  Mr. LaFave served his country with the U.S. Navy Reserve. He had been employed by A.M.C.-Chrysler for over 30 years until his retirement. Following his retirement, Mr. LaFave cut grass at several area golf courses, a job he truly loved. On May 26, 1973, he was united in marriage to the former Beatrice Benson. Mr. LaFave was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, a hardcore NASCAR fan, especially a Dale Earnhardt Jr. follower, and golfer.

     Surviving are his wife, Beatrice, children, Sue (Don) Gourdoux, of Racine, Marge (Steve) Welsh, Kathy (Frank) Krupkowski,all of Union Grove, Diana Ritter, of Surprise, AZ, Rick LaFave, of Plymouth, WI, and Linda Champion, of Seymour, WI, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Gary (Sandy) LaFave, of New Berlin, and Allen (Colleen) LaFave, sister, Joyce (Rick) Bonini, all of Racine, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by 2 sons, Edward R. LaFave Jr., and Ken LaFave.

      His funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 3rd, at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Susan Leih officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will take place in Graceland Cemetery.

     The family would like to thank Dr. James Simonds, his staff, and the staffs of Ridgewood Care Canter, and Wheaton Franciscan Hospital- All Saints for their care and compassion during Ed’s illness.

Michael,

First, let me start out by saying you were a God sent working with me for many years in preparations for my mom’s Homegoing Celebration December 7, 2024.  Even though this was our first time meeting in person, I felt like I already knew you.  Michael, you demonstrated  professionalism, empathy and, your warmth was surprising for me considering your role as a Funeral Director. Your attention to every detail, patient and support has made this process much easier for my family and me.
