Caledonia – Eric Dale Rush was born on March 30, 1962, to Ernest Rush and Eva Brown in Pontiac Michigan.   He departed from this earth on January 17, 2023.

Eric was baptized and accepted Christ at Emmanuel Baptist Church at a young age.

Eric graduated from Purdue High school in 1981. He joined the U.S. army where he served for four years. After four years of active duty he joined the Army reserves for three years. Erics primary role in the army was refueling helicopters, planes, and jeeps. He did this until he was honorably discharged. During his time in the Army, he was stationed at various places, one being Fort Campbell Kentucky 101st Airborne Division. During his ventures in the Army, he gained the privilege to travel across the country and abroad. Some notable places include the Middle East, Israel, Africa, and Tel Aviv.

Eric loved the outdoors. In his early years he ran track at the Wisner Stadium in Pontiac Michigan and was a long-time member of the Boys and Girls club. He enjoyed his wife, children, family and traveling. He loved and lived life to the fullest. He had a way of looking at you so seriously while telling a joke he would have you laughing. Some say he missed his calling as a comedian. He was a sharp dresser he had a lot of charisma, and he was a very confident man. When he dressed-up he knew he was looking good, and no one could tell him otherwise.

While in Michigan Eric had five children, Kenyatta McCoy, Shawnique Brown, Erika Rush, Eric Terrel Rush, Kamesha Rush.

Later on, Eric moved to the state of Wisconsin where he met the love of his life Sabrina while on regular visit to Walmart. After they solidified their union Eric Tyler Rush was born.

Eric leaves to cherish his memories; his wife of 23 years Sabrina Coburn Rush: mother Eva Brown; two sons Eric Terrell Rush (Johanna) and Tyler Rush; and three daughters; Shawniqua Brown, Erika Rush (Tinnie) and Kamesha Rush; brothers Cedric (Ann) Porterfield, Ernest Rush Jr., Maurice Rush, Kevin Lynn Rush,  Kerry Rush, and two sisters, Priscilla Lewis and Pamela Marie Rush and 14 grandchildren and a host of ,aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends; in-laws –  Mildred Jean Coburn, Phyllis Ann Crump, Barbara Callahan (Danny), Sherron L Farrell, Willie Coburn, Joseph Coburn Jr, (China) Curtis Coburn (Petrice), Michelle Johnson (Norris), Valerie Conner.

He was preceded in death by his father Ernest Rush; stepfather Charles Brown; brother Rolonda Rush and his daughter Kenyatta McCoy

Testimonials

December 18, 2024

Words cannot even begin to express the tremendous gratitude our family has for a team like the one at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home & Crematory. Thank you for the gentle lovely care over our mother Delia (Rosa) Balderas. Never having had a direct experience with a funeral home to this extent we didn’t know what to expect. We didn’t have a clue that they would step right in and have the most comforting team surrounding us that thought of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING for anyone in our position. It was very evident from the first discussion on the phone that they were already well prepared to handle every little detail for us that we weren’t even aware would be required. Mark and his team truly eased so much of the unknown worries right out of our path, and left room for us to just focus on the small personal details we wanted for our mom. It was nice to know that all cost involved was in black and white on their site as well as on paper at our first meeting. Leaving no room for question or doubt what so ever with any fee involved. It was truly a blessing to have everything written out so well and simplified with various price range options in a time that we needed crystal clear direction. Its been beautiful to see that their care and service didn’t stop after our mom’s service came to an end. They continue to be in communication with immediate responses as questions arise along the way. God bless Mark, and the entire compassionate team, to be around to guide many many more for generations to come through life’s most difficult times. You are all truly amazing.
