Everett H. Gramkow

Kenosha– Everett H. Gramkow, 84, of Kenosha, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 24, 2011.  

Everettwas born in Yukon, Oklahoma on December 27, 1926 to the late Theodore and Goldie Gramkow.  Following high school, he faithfully served our Country with the United States Navy during WWII as a communication specialist and seaman aboard several submarines.  

On May 19, 1945 in Waukegan, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Shirley Mae (nee: Olsen).  Everett was employed as a talented bricklayer with several construction companies during his longtime career.  

Everettwas a member of First United Methodist Church of Kenosha; Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 4; Loyal Order of Moose #286; VFW; American Legion; AMVETS; and a founding member of the Kenosha County Humane Society. Among his interests, he was an avid fisherman. Everett loved people and cherished spending time with his family and friends.    

Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley Mae of Kenosha; their daughter, Connie Kammerzelt of Silver Lake; grandchildren, Ron (Bernadette) Kammerzelt, Danielle Andrews and Dennis (Candice) Olsen; sisters, Corabelle “Corky” Meyers, Mary Stankard and Anna Lane; brother-in-law, John Olsen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

In addition to his parents, Everett was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stacey Lea Kammerzelt; brother, Dale (Doris) Gramkow; sister, Della (Bob) Randall; sisters-in-law, Margie Haight and Joyce Back; and brother-in-law, Dennis Olsen.  

Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 4:00 pm. Military honors and a reception will follow. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 pm. In accordance with Everett’s wishes, cremation will follow the service and private entombment will take place at the S. Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  

A heartfelt note of thanks to Hospice Alliance, especially Sue, for the compassionate care and support given to Everett and his family during the past few months. May God bless all of you!

    Shirley and Connie-please accept our very deepest condolences. We will all miss seeing Everette with Shirley. He was a very nice gentleman to talk with.
