
Mr. Fred D. Crenshaw, 93, passed away at WFH-All Saints on Friday, March 9, 2012.
He was born in Crofton, KY on September 21, 1918, the son of Cordis and Evenus (nee: Duncan) Crenshaw. After high school he honorably served his nation with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was at Pearl Harbor during the attack and was served aboard the USS Sumner.
On January 15, 1944 he married the former Sallie Ann Woods in Chicago. She preceded him in death on July 5, 1991.
Mr. Crenshaw worked at American Motors/Daimler Chrysler for over 30 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Racine Seventh Day Adventist Church, the American Legion, the UAW and the Ancient Order of the Deep.
He is survived by his devoted son and caretaker, Cardis F. Crenshaw of Racine, daughter-in-law, Maxine Crenshaw of Detroit, grandchildren, Kim Latimore of Detroit, Michelle M. Clay of Milwaukee, Rev. Daryn D. (Laticia) Crenshaw of Racine, Nia T. Crenshaw, Desmond Crenshaw, Douglas Crenshaw, Daniel Crenshaw all of Detroit, two step-sisters, Mary Louise and Myrtle of Madisonville, KY, 14 great grandchildren and other relatives. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Crenshaw was preceded in death by his son, Kim Cortez Crenshaw.
Mr. Crenshaw’s grandson, Rev. Daryn D. Crenshaw presided over a private Homegoing that was celebrated in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, March 16th. His interment followed with military honors at West Lawn Memorial Park.
