Racine – Gerald “Jerry” L. Gregory, 69, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, at his home on Monday, December 14, 2009. Jerry was born in Mauston, WI on October 4, 1940 to the late Herbert and Emma (nee: Rose) Gregory. He has lived in Racine for most of his life. On April 8, 1961 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Judith L. Kristopeit. Jerry was employed by Racine Steel Castings for nearly 40 years until the plant closed in 2002. Among his interests, Jerry had a great appreciation for the outdoors…camping, fishing and hunting; enjoyed trying his luck at the casino; and was a former Green Bay Packer fan, and for the past year, a Minnesota Viking fan. Above all, Jerry loved nothing more than being in the surroundings of his entire family and absolutely adored his grandchildren. Surviving are his loving wife, Judy; their children, Julie Kroll of New London; James (Lynn) Gregory of Green Bay; and Joel (Holly) Gregory of Oconomowoc; grandchildren, Kaylyn, Emilianne (Ryan), Tim “T.J.”, Jonathan, Sarah, Kara, Hayden, Gracie Jo, Kaylen and Harley; sisters, Lillian Heinkel and Eleanor (Palmer) Lau; brother, Robert Gregory; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Gregory, Sandra (Don) Liesner and Debra Knotek; brother-in-law, Bruce Kristopeit; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brothers, Lester, Harold, John and Richard Gregory; sisters, Vera Lofts and Joyce O’Braski; and by Judy’s parents, Oscar and Olive Kristopeit. Funeral services celebrating Jerry’s life will be in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 10 am – 12 noon. In accordance with Jerry’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. A special note of thanks to the entire staff of All Saints Dialysis West for your compassionate care and support; and to Jerry’s dedicated friend, Bob Dye, for always being there when he needed you!

Judy, I am so sorry for your loss. Gerry was a great guy. We will all miss him. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the funeral as I have just started a new job. However Trudy will be able to make it.
God Bless you and your family
