Gordon J. Gerstner, 77, received the promise of eternal life on October 19, 2021, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on May 3, 1944, son of the late Paul and Muriel (née: Kaiser) Gerstner.

Gordon was united in marriage to the former Pamela Beth Stoner on July 6, 1985, in Antioch, IL.

Gordon proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Airforce during Vietnam. He was an administrative officer at the VA in North Chicago until his retirement. Gordon was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Pleasant Prairie for over 20 years. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Gordon enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles. He loved spending time cleaning and caring for his swimming pool. He was an avid Packers fan, unless they were playing the Buffalo Bills since they were his hometown team. Being a Husband, Dad, and Grandpa was his entire world. He loved taking road trips and going on random adventures.

Gordon leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 36 years, Pam Gerstner; children, Holly Turcotte, David Gerstner, Brian (Daniela) Logsdon, Meghan (Sonny) Sharks, Ashley Gerstner; grandchildren, Jaidyn, Sam, Kaitlyn, Ani, Halle, Sarah; sister-in-law, Kitty Gerstner, sister-in-law Dru (Jeff) DeLong; faithful canine companions, Gabi and Gracie; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.

In addition to his parents, Gordon is preceded in death by his son Crane Gerstner; grandson, Sonny Sharks, Jr.; and brother, Robert Gerstner.

The family would like to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to the staffs at Hospice Alliance and Grande Prairie Health and Rehabilitation Center, especially his regular nursing staff, Pat, Lucia, Liza, Kyra, and Lena, for the love and care given to Gordon and his family at this difficult time.

I met Gordon in 1979 prior to my marriage to his nephew. Gordon has always held a special place in my heart. He was always there with a helping hand and words of comfort. He will be greatly missed by me, Bob and his grandaughter Jaidyn. We loved sharing sporting an church moments with him. He would cheer the loudest for Jaidyn. He was always so proud of her. We were lucky to spend some quality time with him in 2020 and previous mini vacatiobns at the Hilton, the Dells, and Tennessee. We will cherish those memories. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Gerstner household. May Gordon rest in peace in the arms of his brother and son Crane. We will miss you Uncle Gordon.
