Jun 21, 1935 – Dec 13, 2011

Racine – Grace Marie Bails, 76, passed away at WFH All Saints on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. She was born in Murphysboro, Illinois on June 21, 1935, daughter of the late Booker T. and Lena (nee: Moore) Sanders. Grace moved to Racine after graduating from high school and in 1964 was married to Hubert “Rabbit” Bails. He preceded her in death in 2002.

Grace enjoyed her career as a pre-school teacher in the Racine Unified School District for more than 20 years, teaching kids at P-COC, Garfield, and Janes school, as well as at the King Center and home schooling. Grace loved to play bingo, bowl, and play cards with friends at the King Center. Most of all she loved being a mom and grandmother. Grace was a member of Faith Church of God.

She is survived by her children, Anita “Bunny” (George) Morris of Racine, Maurice Hill of Memphis, Tennessee, and Annette McDonald of Peoria, Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Alberto and Cheri Morris, Rameisha Hill, Ramyka and Canosha  McDonald; 1 great-grandchild, Serena Green; 6 brothers and sisters; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister.

Homegoing services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 with Pastor Darryl Simmons presiding. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Grace’s family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Brenda Gillespie for being such a good and supportive friend; and to the people at Wheaton Hospice, and All Saints for the good work you do, and for the kindness shown to Grace and her family.

Testimonials

Andrew Langendorf

Can’t thank Gary and you all enough for our fathers funeral arrangements (Victor Joseph Morris) June 18th, 2020.
He would have been SO proud. So many little personal details that we were not even expecting, totally overwhelmed us. From the pamphlets to the thank-you notes and copies of the video, to the beautiful casket picture and arrangement. Pop looked as proud as he was in life. And thanks also to the very cooperative and helpful staff. We thought it would take much longer to knock this all out at our one and only meeting with Gary. We did not want to overlook, or forget to give our heartfelt thanks for such wonderful service at such a horrible time in our lives.
God Bless,
Bob Morris
