Harry John Czosnek

Apr 7, 1925 – Apr 17, 2006

Racine- Harry John Czosnek, 81, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2006 in Kenosha at Washington Manor following a courageous battle with cancer. A lifetime resident, Harry was born in Racine on April 7, 1925 to the late John and Magdalena (nee: Szuba) Czosnek. On June 30, 1947 in Atonement Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Patricia H. Hansen, who preceded him in death on November 30, 2005. Proud to be a Teamster, Harry was employed by Service Transport, later known as Advance Transportation, for over 40 years. Among many of his interests, Harry enjoyed training and racing Pigeons, spoiling his Beagles, and was an avid small game hunter. Together, Harry and Pat were members of the Racine Racing Pigeon Club. Above all, Harry was a devoted husband and father who will be truly missed. Surviving are his son, Michael Jerome (Dolores) Czosnek of Socorro, NM; daughter, Sawyer Magdalen (Stephen) DeMint of Racine; sisters, Mary Adams and Lillian (Harry) Torosian, both of Racine; sisters-in-law, Pearl (Jerry) Wilear of Racine and Mavis Czosnek of Maine; brother-in-law, John Viggo (Ruth) Hansen of Spring Green; and by many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Harry was preceded in death by brothers, John (Carmen) Czosnek, Ed and Joe Czosnek; sisters, Julia (Robert) DeHahn and Helen (Emery) Weisbrod; sister-in-law, Gertrude Marie (Raymond) Nerad; and by Pat’s parents, Percy and Clara (nee: Thielen) Hansen. Funeral services will be celebrated at the funeral home, 4600 County Line Rd., on Friday, April 21, 2006 at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeffrey M. Thielen officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 pm and Friday from 10-11 am. In memory of Harry, memorials to the American Cancer Society has been suggested.
