Helen Baker Stolfi

Jan 20, 1931 – Jan 15, 2013

Kenosha – Helen B. Stolfi, 81, received the promise of eternal life on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.  She was born in Endicott, NY, on January 20, 1931, daughter of the late Leslie Earl and Myrtle Irene (nee: Paul) Baker.

Helen was united in marriage to the love of her life, Donald Robert Stolfi, Sr., on January 13, 1949, in Endicott, NY.  Don preceded her in death on November 29, 2012.

Helen graduated from Union-Endicott High School in Endicott, NY.  Don and Helen moved to Kenosha in 1951 and then to Racine in 1956.  She was a telecommunications operator for Wisconsin Bell and AT&T until she retired in 1990.  Helen and her family were members of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Racine for many years.  Helen was also a member of the Hansche School PTA when her children attended school.  Helen enjoyed gardening and loved tending to her beautiful flowers.  She was a master at cross-stitch and has created many works of art for her family and friends over the years.  Helen will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Helen leaves to cherish her memory, son, Donald R. (Patti) Stolfi, Jr. of Kenosha; daughter, Jacqueline (Tom) Huston of Jonesboro, IN; daughter, Joanne (Kenneth) Hotchkiss of Kenosha; son, Thomas (Rebecca) Stolfi of Kenosha; son Michael (Theresa) Stolfi of Racine; thirteen grandchildren, Gretchen Bush, Jason (Kristine) Stolfi, Sr., Scott (Jennifer) Stolfi, Kenneth Stolfi, Craig (Sarah) Huston, Audrey (Rick) Fireline, Anthony Hotchkiss, David (Marie) Hotchkiss, Deanna (Jim) Rossi, Kimberly Hotchkiss, Jacob Stolfi, Jessica Stolfi, Justin Stolfi; twelve great-grandchildren, Frankie, Mariah, Jason, Jayden, Betty, Brandon, Seger, Journey, Esther, Abigail, Dominic, Adriana; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.  In addition to her parents and husband, Helen is preceded in death by her son, John; brothers, Leslie, Richard, and Russell.

A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 19, 2013, 12:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Gary T. Thaler officiating.  Visitation will be from 10am until the time of the service.  Interment will take place on a later date at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.  In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Salvation Army, Hospice Alliance, or the Angel Autism Network.

The Stolfi family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Alliance and the staff at Casa Del Mare for the love and care that they gave to Helen during her time of need.

Testimonials

October 9, 2020

I would like to thank Mike Langendorf, Bill Althaus and the rest of the staff for the wonderful celebration of the life for my father Raymond L. Szymanski who was a WWII veteran. I especially appreciate how much you really listen and the questions you asked regarding who my father was and what he was all about. Those details showed up in every part of the service from the flowers, the music, the thank you’s, pictures, obituary, outdoor military honors, etc. etc. My father would have been so grateful for the way you honored his life. I also received phone calls from family and friends indicating how beautiful the service was in every way. You and your staff definitely go above and beyond. You treat everyone like family and your compassion is so genuine. There should be more people in the world just like all of you. No words can express our gratitude for all you have done for myself, my father and our family. Thank you so very much and may the Lord bless you and yours! Sincerely Terri Carls and the Szymanski Family

Theresa Lynn Carls
