
Hixie Mae Hobbs was born on November 13, 1925, in Brownsville, TN, to the union of Jack Caldwell and Catherine (nee: McFarland) Caldwell. She departed this life on July 10, 2012, at WFH-All Saintsin Racine at the age of 86. She began her walk in Christ at Grace Temple COGIC in Racine under the leadership of Elder Jettie Cornett where she served on the Mother’s board, hospitality and various other committees. At the time of her passing, she was a member of CFFC of Racine under the leadership of Pastors’ Willie and Patricia Scott.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, son, Alvin (Dr. Sarah) Fouse Jr.; grandchildren, Anthony & Alvin III Fouse, Alicia (Stanley) McKenzie Sr., Christopher & Matthew (Jennifer) Zamineck; great-grandchildren, TaShonda Golden, Felix (Tarita) McKenzie, Stanley McKenzie Jr., Jordan, Alvin IV, Trenton & DaVonte Fouse,Quinton & Kellon Zamineck; great-great-grandchildren, Makayla McAllister, Felix McKenzie Jr.; siblings, Lorine Smith,Kermit (Dorothy) Caldwell, Calvin (Maggie) Caldwell, Dennis (Evelyn) Caldwell, Eugene (Lelar) Caldwell, Sallie Sylvester of Mansfield, OH, Curtis (Debbie) Caldwell of Columbus, OH, Elsie Person of Racine, William (Drucilla) Caldwell of Ashland, OH; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack & Daisy Caldwell, Charlie Ben & Mariah McFarland; parents, Jack and Catherine Caldwell; son, Joseph; daughter, Winnie Mae; granddaughter, Theresa Lynn; siblings, Eva Shannon, Lucy B. Taylor, J. T. Caldwell, Thlema Allen, Dorothy M. Parker, Ethel L McGee, and Mamie D. Hoke.
A Homegoing service will be celebrated on Saturday, July 14, 2012, 11am, at Greater Grace Temple, 522 N. Memorial Drive, with Rev. Willie Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30am until the time of the service. Burial will take place on Monday, July 16, 2012, 10am, at Graceland Cemetery.
