RACINE – Jackie E. Johnson, 51, passed away at WFH- All Saints on Monday, December 15, 2014 after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Racine on April 13, 1963, the daughter of the late Joe and Eula (nee: Oates) Johnson.
Jackie was employed by Racine Unified School District for over 19 years, last working at JI Case High School.
She enjoyed being around her students, going to casinos, trying new restaurants and shopping. However, Jackie was happiest when in the presence of her family; especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Justin and Kimberly Johnson; her adopted children, Dewayne Binford-Johnson, Milton McCain-Johnson, Jammel Butterfield-Johnson, Isaiah Butterfield-Johnson all of Racine; her dear grandchildren, Tylan Johnson, Daezjon McLemore, Kai Johnson and Savannah Johnson all of Racine; her brothers, Joe (Bernadette) Johnson of Minneapolis, MN, Johnny (Francis) Johnson of Warner Robins, GA, Jeffrey Johnson of San Antonio, TX, Jason (Tammy) Johnson of Racine; her sisters, Jennifer Johnson of San Antonio, TX, and Judy Johnson of Racine; her adopted brothers and sisters, Denise Crumble of Milwaukee, WI, Pat Rieschl of Appleton, WI, Margaret (Fluffy) Offord of Birmingham, AL, Sharif (Kathy) Amir of Powder Springs, GA, Paul Johnson of San Antonio, TX and Lamont Higgenbottom of Rochester, NY; her aunts and uncles, Maggie Pipkins, Carolyn (Ben) Shaw, Beverly (Ruth) Johnson, Steve Oates; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her brother, Jerome Johnson as well as maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Family and friends are invited to meet at New Omega Baptist Church (5731 Northwestern Ave.) on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. for the celebration of Jackie’s life and Homegoing with Pastor Daryn Crenshaw officiating. There will be a visitation in the church from 10-11 a.m. Her interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
