James Weston Daly

Racine – James Weston Daly, 88, passed away at WFH – All Saints hospital on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. He was born in Norway Ridge, Wisconsin on January 22, 1923, son of the late John and Esther (nee: Olson) Daly. During WWII he served with the US Army in the European and North African Theater. He was married to Marilyn “Pet” Nelsen on April 2, 1949. For most of his life he was a Racine area resident. Mr. Daly worked as a machinist at Kyle (Cooper Industries) in South Milwaukee for many years.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathleen “Kitty” Daly and son, Steven (Debra) Daly, both of Racine; brother Leland Daly of Port Orchard, Washington; special nephew John (Janet) Philip of Oak Creek; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law Joann and Wayne Behrens of Racine; special friends Marti Schiele and Carol Schiele of Union Grove; brothers-in-law Erv Nelsen, Gilbert Nelsen, and Pastor Robert (Bunnie) Nelsen all of Racine; many friends at Marion Housing Center; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Sawyer. He was also preceded in death by his his wife, Pet Daly in August 2003; brother and sister-in-law Norman and Luella Daly; sister and brother-in-law Anita and Clarence Dunn; and sister-in-law Mary Daly.

In keeping with his wishes, private services and interment have taken place at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Special thanks to the staff of Ridgewood Care Center (1 East and 2 East) for their care and concern; to WFH – All Saints for their care and compassion in easing Jim out of this life; and to Dr. Sarang Baman for his years of kindness and caring.
