Jane Marcella Erdman

Aug 23, 1921 – Jan 1, 2011

Racine – Jane Marcella Erdman, 89, passed away at WFH All Saints Hospital on Saturday, January 01, 2011. She was born in Racine on August 23, 1921, daughter of Arthur and Leota (nee: Clutter) Bahr. On December 14, 1942 she was married in Ft. Riley, Kansas to George Erdman of Milwaukee. During WWII, Jane proudly served our nation as an inspector in a major munitions factory.

Jane retired from Color Arts after working 30 years as a screen press operator and inspector. Her family was very important to her, and she adored being with grandchildren. Jane enjoyed camping, singing and yodeling around the campfire, reading, and watching game shows on TV.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, George “Hank” and Debrah Erdman II; granddaughter, Michelle (Jim Woodward) Erdman; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Jeremy Erdman; brother, Glenn Bahr; sisters, Nancy (Warren) Gall, and Shirley (Raymond) Duckworth; as well as other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Arthur Bahr, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment at West Lawn Memorial Park will follow. All are invited to visit with her family in the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4pm – 7pm, or Thursday from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association have been suggested.
