Jeanne Margaret Lojeski

Aug 20, 1928 – Jul 26, 2011

Racine- Jeanne M. (nee: Beres) Lojeski, 82, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints on Tuesday, July 26, 2011.

Jeanne was born in Racine on August 20, 1928 to the late John P. and Lillian (nee: Kupper) Beres. She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1946. On September 11, 1954, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Walter W. Lojeski, who preceded her in death on June 1, 2003.

Although her main vocation was being a dedicated and tireless homemaker, Jeanne also served the students of St. Lucy School as the director of the lunch program for over 22 years. To this day, former students rave about Jeanne’s phenomenal homemade cooking and the sincere interest she had in all of their lives.

A long time member and true pillar of St. Lucy Parish, Jeanne was a member of the Altar Society, former Girl Scout leader, volunteer for the food pantry, active with the Lucyioners, spent countless hours at the annual festival, and was a devoted member of the daily Mass prayer group. Among her interests, Jeanne loved playing cards, especially Schafkopf, with the Round Robin card club. Jeanne was a member of the St. Cat’s Class of ’46 Girls Club, and Hamilton Beach Girls Club. She also enjoyed participating in the All Saints Cardiac Rehab., DeKoven Aquasize, and organizing the Durand Avenue Apartments monthly senior events to brighten the lives of those who were in need.  A true sports fanatic, Jeanne was an avid Packer and Brewer fan. However, she lived for attending the games and events of her grandchildren.

Surviving are her forever grateful children, Tom (Debbie) Lojeski, Sue (Tom) Christensen, Cathy (Curt) Petersen, Jane (Gordon Gerke) Lueloff and Jill (Greg) Thomas; daughter-in-law, Janice Lojeski; grandchildren, Andrea, John Jr. and William Lojeski; Matthew (Elise), David and Amanda Lojeski; Michael, Daniel and Joseph Christensen; Andrew and Hannah Petersen; Zachary and Nicholas Lueloff; Jake and Bryan Thomas; great-grandson, Matthew Lojeski, Jr.; brother, Bob (Kay) Beres; sister, Mary Ann Thorson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shirley Beres, Gerald Lojeski, Robert (Sharon) Lojeski, Judy Lojeski, Donna Rognerud, Judy (Frank) Sharkozy and Mary Ann Lojeski; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved son, John: sister, Bernice (Roy) Jacob; brothers, Don and Ken Beres; and brothers-in-law, Bill and Frank (Shirley) Lojeski, Evan Rognerud, and Roger Thorson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 11:00 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. A luncheon will follow. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9:30 – 11 am. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32 on Monday at 3 pm. In memory of Jeanne, memorials to St. Lucy School or to one’s charity of choice have been suggested.

A heartfelt note of thanks to the CNAs, nurses, and therapists of  All Saints, Ridgewood 1 East, and Lakeshore Manor and, to all of Jeanne’s devoted family and friends for their countless visits, prayers, and support in her time of need. May God bless all of you!
