Jeffery Guyann Bogan

Jun 27, 1957 – Feb 14, 2012

Racine-  Jeffery Guyann Bogan, 54, passed away peacefully at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center on Tuesday, February 14th, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Jeffery was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on June 27, 1957 to the late James and Annie (nee: Bradford) Bogan, Sr. A Racine resident since 1960, she attended Washington Park High School.

Jeffery was employed as a dietary aide at Lincoln Lutheran until she retired due to her failing health.  She was a proud member of Christ Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, watching reality television, cooking and loved sharing a funny story or joke with her loved ones.

Surviving are her children, Monique Bogan, Rolancia Bogan and Marandia Mack; grandchildren, Destinique Bogan and Quadavion Ferrell; brothers and sisters, Walter Lee Talley, Willie Hughes, James Bogan Jr., Patricia (Lillard) Darby, Mary Bogan, Therita Harris, Delores Bogan, Samantha Bogan and Annie Isom; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to her parents, Jeffery was preceded in death by her brother, Lance Bogan.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11:00 am in Christ Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 815 Park Ave., with Rev. Mark D. Gates officiating. A reception will follow. Viewing will be in the church on Wednesday from 9:30 -11:00 am. Private interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.

A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane and his entire staff; to everyone at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center; and to all of Jeffery’s relatives and friends that supported her during her journey with cancer. May God bless all of you!

Testimonials

October 9, 2020

I would like to thank Mike Langendorf, Bill Althaus and the rest of the staff for the wonderful celebration of the life for my father Raymond L. Szymanski who was a WWII veteran. I especially appreciate how much you really listen and the questions you asked regarding who my father was and what he was all about. Those details showed up in every part of the service from the flowers, the music, the thank you’s, pictures, obituary, outdoor military honors, etc. etc. My father would have been so grateful for the way you honored his life. I also received phone calls from family and friends indicating how beautiful the service was in every way. You and your staff definitely go above and beyond. You treat everyone like family and your compassion is so genuine. There should be more people in the world just like all of you. No words can express our gratitude for all you have done for myself, my father and our family. Thank you so very much and may the Lord bless you and yours! Sincerely Terri Carls and the Szymanski Family

Theresa Lynn Carls
