
Joan S. Clementi, 71, passed away, unexpectedly, in the Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Emergency Room on Monday, March 28, 2011. She was born in Racine on October 13, 1939 the daughter of the late, Stanley and Anna (nee: Augustyn) Czosnek.
Joan was a graduate of St. Stanislaus School, St. Catherine’s High School, Class of 1957, and Dominican College, Class of 1961. On July 29, 1961, in St. Stanislaus Church, she was united in marriage to Joseph S. Clementi. Joan taught 4thgrade at Knapp School and was an education instructor at Dominican College. She also worked at Clementi’s Gifts.
Joan was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and a past president of the Ladies of Columbus Auxiliary. Her involvement with the Church community and school also included working in the Learning Center, the Tutoring Center, and assisting her family in many church festival activities. She enjoyed playing bridge and cribbage, working crossword puzzles, watching the Green Bay Packers football games and Tole painting. But nothing meant more to her than her family and spoiling her grandchildren…
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, of nearly 50 years, Joseph S. Clementi; their children, Donna (Carter) Culver, of River Forest, IL, Michael (Tammi) Clementi, of Racine, Kathleen (Eric) Eickhoff, of Manitowoc, WI. Anthony (Nicole) Clementi, of Skokie, IL, Steven (Tracy) Clementi, of West Allis, WI and Susan (Todd) Beaty, of West Bend; 12 grandchildren, Lily, Matthew, and Sophie Culver, Katie and Maggie Clementi, Joshua, Ian, and Samuel Eickhoff, Isabella and Joseph Clementi, and Vincent and Marisa Clementi; sisters-in-law, Sandy Czosnek, Catherine Anderson, both of Racine, and Joyce Clementi of Oconto, WI . Her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive her. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brother Eugene Czosnek, and brothers-in-law Russell J. Anderson and Frank Clementi.
Her concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., on Thursday, April 7th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William J. Dietzler and Rev. Jeffrey M. Thielen officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 6th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and in the Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Private burial services will be held in the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. To help continue the legacy and tradition of Catholic Education, memorials can be directed to the General Financial Aid Fund at St. Catherine’s High School.
