
Jodie L. Lockridge, 68, completed his earthly journey on Saturday, June 4, 2011. He was born in Tupelo, MS on July 9, 1942 the son of the late Rev. James D. and Emmer Jean (nee: Bobo) Lockridge. He received Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.
On January 18, 1964, here in Racine, he was united in marriage to the former Elizabeth Myles. Mr. Lockridge was a truck driver his entire career. He had been employed by the J.I. Case Co. for over 23 years. He later worked for Standard Forwarding, Promotions Unlimited, Express Freight, and UPS. Mr. Lockridge was a member of Changing Lives Ministries, the Bandtu Motorcycle Club, the Masonic Southgate Lodge # 6, and the Teamsters Local 43. He enjoyed bowling and riding his Harley. His great love was for his family.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth; their children, Jodie L. (Tiffany) Lockridge Jr., of Atlanta, Dadra Lockridge, and Terry (Wylinda Riley) Lockridge, all of Racine; 15 grandchildren, Dacia Lockridge Williams, Susie Lockridge Johnson, Dominque Lockridge Smith, Quadadra Lockridge McMillian, Jada Lockridge Sardin, Patrick “PJ” Lockridge Beverly, David Lockridge Campbell, Jazzon Lockridge McWhorter, Sedale Lockridge, Darvis Lockridge, Shyla Turner, Derick Lockridge Turk, Raven Booker, Jazmen Booker and Julian Mayfield; 9 great grandchildren, Josiah Johnson, Brian “BO.J.” Overstreet, Khole Prince, Jazai McWhorter, Trinity Lockridge Williams, Sa’Riah Skyy Lockridge, Aiden Smith, Annique Smith, and Anton Smith Jr.; brother, James (Maggie) Lockridge, of Beloit; sisters, Mary (Cleveland) Cornelious, and Eula V. Gilliam, all of Racine; and his mother-in-law, Rosie Jones, of Chicago. His nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lockridge was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Lockridge and Marguerite Montgomery, and brother-in-law, Willie Gilliam.
His Homegoing Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, June 11th, at 10:00 a.m. with his cousin, Rev Jimmie Lockridge and Pastor Frank James officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
