Joseph M. Spranger, 63, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 9, 2021.  He was born in Racine on December 10, 1957, son of the late Kenneth and Lucille (née Granger) Spranger.

Joseph was united in marriage to Carol Ann Niesen, on June 22, 1985, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Racine.

Joe graduated from J.I. Case High School in 1976.  He worked as a die caster for InSinkErator for 36 years until he retired in 2014.  Joe valued the friendships he made in his career and kept them alive following retirement through regular lunches with coworkers.  Joe loved working on his house, planting flowers, and caring for the birds in his yard.  Above all, he treasured the time he was able to spend with his family.

Joe will be missed and remembered by his wife of over 36 years, Carol Spranger; son, Brian (Colette) Spranger; daughter, Amy (Geoffrey) Rossmann; grandson, Reed Spranger; siblings, Bill (Karen) Spranger, Mark (Diane) Spranger, Margie Spranger, John (Angie) Spranger, Jeanne (Dave) Tabbert; and many well-loved nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his brother, Danny Spranger.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 19th, 2021, 12:00pm, at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue.  Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the Mass.  Interment will follow at Mound Cemetery.

Testimonials

July 6, 2018

Brian & Staff – My family and I cannot thank you enough for the loving support you’ve given to us during this difficult time. You really took the time to get to us know us and mom, and it was truly shown in the details. Mom looked amazing and every detail regarding her arrangements were so heartfelt, it meant the world to us. We are so thankful you for you and your staff.
