Joyce L. Tajnai

Feb 21, 1930 – Mar 16, 2012

Mrs. Joyce  Tajnai, 82, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 16, 2012.

Joyce was born in Racine on February 21, 1930, the daughter of Hilary and Margaret (nee: Kreuser) Merchle.  Joyce graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1948. On May 16, 1953 she was united in marriage to Steve Tajnai at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, where she remained a lifelong member.

Joyce was a selflessly devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her love for Jesus, her contagious laughter, and her unfailing ability to listen spilled over into the lives of her family, whom she often referred to as the, “loves of my life.” She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband Steve, she is survived by her 8 children and 26 grandchildren, Stephen (Pat) Alex and Aaron Tajnai; Terri (Tom) Matt and Andrew Tarkington; Peggy (Tom) Greg (Amanda), Kristen, Brittany, Alissa, and Josh Pulda; Susan (Tom) Rachel, Therese, and Ryan Merkel;  Joseph (Pam) Sara (Adrian) , Steve (Amy),  Rebekah, Ben, Jon, and Daniel Tajnai;  Thomas (Cris) David, Kristen, Caroline Tajnai;  Michael (Jacqueline)Lauren and Sophia Tajnai and Robert (Mary Kay) Stephanie, Kaitlin, and Anna  Tajnai; 10 great-grandchildren; her brother,  Wayne (Rosie) Merchle  and her sister, Marlene Brosman/Sippel(Harold); her sisters-in-law, Ann Putra and Margaret Balog; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Joyce is preceded in death by brother-in-law, Marvin Brosman.

There will be a visitation in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.   The celebration of Joyce’s life and funeral Mass will be held at St. Edward’s Church on Thursday, March 22nd, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with Mass to follow.  Her interment will follow the Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum.

The Tajnai family extends their gratitude to Joyce’s caregivers including: Ridgewood Care Center , Dr. Choi, Dr. Dhingra, her nephew, Dean Tajnai and WFH–Hospice and Cardiovascular staff  for their professional and loving attention.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, Jesus.

That whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.”  John 3:16

Mom I miss you and love you so very much. The only thing that encourages my days is the fact that you are no longer in pain and that you are in heaven dancing with Jesus

Testimonials

October 22, 2015

After the passing of our loved one, the time came to make the arrangements for his funeral and we couldn’t have asked for anyone more kind and caring as Mark was. He picked up on all the little details and things we held close to our hearts and made the celebration of this wonderful man’s life very special. Even playing taps along with the honor guard, Mark we can’t thank you enough…our heartfelt thanks go out to you and the staff.
Sincerely, THE GENE GRABHER FAMILY

Linda
