Kent Warren Nelson

Jul 1, 1954 – Oct 1, 2024

Service Details

Services are private.

On October 1, 2024, we sadly bid farewell to Kent Warren Nelson, a beloved son, brother, and friend. Born on July 1, 1954, in Racine, Wisconsin, Kent leaves behind a legacy of kindness and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Though his passing was unexpected, Kent lived a life filled with humor, love for animals, and a passion for adventure. From his days at Washington Park High School to his time as a custodian at Parkside to his time as a forklift operator at Johnson Wax, Kent always brought a smile to those around him. As the jokester in the room, he could light up any gathering with his wit and humor.

With a love for motorcycles and scuba diving, Kent found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was cruising on his Harley or exploring the depths of the ocean in the Cayman Islands. His fond memories of childhood adventures in Door County, Wisconsin, and his love for his family and furry companion, Billie Jean, will forever be treasured.

Kent is survived by his siblings, Steven Nelson, Craig Nelson, Deb Nelson (Billings), Brian Thomas, Janice Nelson (Mikulecky); nephews, Ben Nelson, Joel Nelson, Kevin Nelson; nieces, Kelli Kaminski (Nelson), Heather Niles (Nelson); cute loving canine companion, Billie Jean; other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Kent is preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Nelson;  his parents, E. Gordon Nelson  and Dorothy Jean Nelson (Melander).

Rest in peace, Kent, your spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by your warmth and humor.  We will remember the laughter, love, and adventures that you shared with us all.

Thank you

Dear Langendorf Family,

There are no words to describe how thankful and loved we felt during our Grandpa’s funeral service. We are so lucky to know you as friends and we will be forever grateful for everything you have done for us and for Grandpa Mario throughout his lifetime and after his death. He loved you all and enjoyed sharing so many great times with you in the barbershop and as neighbors. Please accept our heartfelt thanks for all your caring ways and thoughtfulness and extend our appreciation to all at the funeral home who made Mario’s service so memorable.
