LaVerne Alma Hoglund

Service Details

A service of committal will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 12 O’ Clock Noon in the chapel at West Lawn Memorial Park, 9000 Washington Ave., Racine, WI 53406.  Entombment will follow.

LaVerne A. Hoglund, age 93, formerly of Racine, WI, late of Chatfield, MN, passed away at her home in Chatfield on January 2, 2023.

LaVerne was born in Fort Francis, Canada a daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Brodeux) Bedard.

On July 30, 1949, in Racine, LaVerne was united in marriage to Lloyd Werner Hoglund.

They lived in Racine until they moved to Necedah, WI to enjoy their retirement.

LaVerne and Lloyd enjoyed bowling and throwing darts.  She loved to bake and made sure everyone always had enough to eat.

Sadly, Lloyd preceded her in death on July 25, 1996.

Following Lloyd’s passing, her daughter Linda moved in to care for her.  Together, they lived in Necedah,WI, Milwaukee, WI, and Chatfield, MN.

LaVerne is survived by her children, Gary and Sue Hoglund of Green Bay, WI, Linda Christensen of Chatfield, MN, David and Danell Hoglund and Nancy Hoglund of Racine, WI, and Mark and Sheri Hoglund of Milwaukee, WI; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, and a host of niece’s nephews and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Art Bedard, Vivian and John Zember, Ruth and Jim Bruno, Carol and Marty James, Alfred Bedard, and her sister-in-law and her husband, LaVerne and Tom Turek.
