
~~A celebration of her life will be held at New Brighter Day Baptist Church, 1225 25th Ave, Kenosha, WI, on Saturday, January 18th, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.~~Sister Linda Jean (Nee: Young) Mitchell, 64 died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at United Hospital System- Kenosha Campus. She was born in Helena, Arkansas, on August 19, 1949 to the late Nathaniel Young Sr. and Leona (nee: Palmer) Young. She was raised in Helena and was educated in Helena school system, graduating from Eliza Miller High School. She came to Kenosha in the early 70’s.
On May 26, 1978, she married Ottis Mitchell and to this union three children were born. They later divorced but still remained good friends. She was a member of New Omega Baptist Church in Racine, WI. She was employed with Medical Products, Snap-On Tools and Cherry Electric until she retired due to her illness.
Left to cherish her beautiful memories are her children; Tammy of Memphis, TN, Ottez and Antoine Mitchell both of Kenosha, WI, grandchildren; Octarious, Amirha, Tyre, Kaydence, Aiyauna and Icesis, brothers; Eddie (Bessie) Young, Jimmie (Jeanette) Young, Dale (Janice) Young, Mark Young, Jerdy Young, Joseph Young, and Macon Young all of Kenosha, sisters; Bernice Young, Brenda Young both of Kokomo, Indiana, Annie (Roy) Sledge, Diana Young, Sandra Foster and Ozell Brantley all of Kenosha, best friends; Katherine Phillips of Helena, AR and Gloria Gant of University Park, IL. as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; Nathaniel and Leona Young, her grandson; A’Jmere Mitchell, her brother Nathaniel Young Jr. and best friend Linda Winters.
