
MOUNT PLEASANT – Mrs. Lois E. Neumiller, 83, was called to her heavenly Father on Saturday, October 6, 2012. She passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Albany, WI., surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was born in Kenosha on July 21, 1929, the daughter of the late Emory and Helen (nee: Thompson) Scheckler. She graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. On November 1, 1947 she married Fred Neumiller at Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenosha. He preceded her in death on November 19, 1988.
Mrs. Neumiller was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who worked hard to raise and care for her family. She was also devoted to her God and church. Upon moving to Racine they joined First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Neumiller enjoyed family gatherings, traveling and daily walks. She was very dear to those who knew and loved her and she will be missed.
She is survived by her children, Tom (Wallene) Neumiller of Savanna, IL, Carrie (Ken) Henderson of Albany, WI, Lori (Bruce) Rowntree of Burlington, Debra (Kraig) Moffatt of Mount Pleasant and Ron (Celine) Neumiller of Cordova, IL. She is further survived by her 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; her sister, Esther Kaiser; special niece, Linda Clausen both of Kenosha; as well as many other dear nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Neumiller and sisters and brothers, Hazel Gitzlaff, Alice Meyer, Verna Scheckler, Donald, Emory and Richard Scheckler.
Family and friends are invited to meet at First Evangelical Lutheran Church (728 Villa St in Racine) on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. for a funeral service and the celebration of Mrs. Neumiller’s life with Rev. Aaron Dolan and Rev. John Roekle officiating. There will be a visitation in the church on Wednesday from 10-11:30 a.m. Her interment at West Lawn Memorial Park will follow the church service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to either First Evangelical Lutheran Church or Agrace Hospice in Janesville.
