
Racine – Louis A. Vasy, 82, received the promise of eternal life on Thursday, March 22, 2012. He was born in Racine on November 1, 1929, son of the late John and Julia (nee: Vojtko) Vasy.
Louis was united in marriage to the love of his life, Judith Carol Ann Harvey, on May 10, 1958, at First United Methodist Church in Racine.
Louis graduated from Washington Park High School in 1948 where he was a decorated track star. Following high school, he faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during Korea. Louis was a founding member of the Mount Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department in 1964 until he retired in 1988. He worked as a machinist for Bosch, formerly Racine Hydraulics, until his retirement in 1992. Louis was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his fishing buddies. He also enjoyed biking, reading, model trains, bowling, the Green Bay Packers, and WWE wrestling events with his granddaughters. Louis was a devoted family man and will be dearly missed.
Louis leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 53 years, Judy Vasy of Racine; beloved daughters, Debra (Stan) Johnson, Julie (Michael) Hutchinson, Carrie Ballew, all of Racine; special daughter, Jenny Beaty-Rovinski of Racine; grandchildren, Josh Johnson, Courtney Johnson, Jordan Hutchinson, Kaitlyn Hutchinson; sister, Margaret Vasy of Racine; brother, Arthur (Shirley) Vasy of Virginia; sister-in-law, Adeline Vasy of Racine; and other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention. In addition to his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Russell Harvey; grandchildren, Megan Hutchinson and Morgan Ballew; brothers, Frankie Vasy (infant), John (Ella) Vasy, Stephen (Marge) Vasy, Julius Vasy, Henry Vasy; and son-in-law, David Ballew.
A memorial service for Louis will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, 7pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Brad Van Fossen officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm until the time of the service. Interment with full military honors will take place on Thursday, March 29, 2012, 11am, at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Dover.
