Lucille Elaine Richer

Jul 26, 1942 – Aug 25, 2010

Mrs. Lucille Elaine (Lucy) Richer, 68, returned to God on Wednesday August 25, 2010 due to complications of multiple myeloma.

Lucy was born in Kenosha on July 26, 1942 to Anthony and Elsie (nee: Migliano) Moretti who have proceeded her in death.  Lucy was a graduate of the first class of St. Joseph High School in Kenosha (1960), graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Milwaukee (1963) and the College of St. Francis of Joliet, IL.  On August 29, 1964, she married Thomas J. Richer at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Kenosha. For over 40 years she was registered nurse having worked at St. Catherine’s Hospital (Kenosha), Dr. Anoo Patel (Kenosha), The Kenosha Surgery Center, Florida Hospital (Orlando) and retired from Wheaton Franciscan Health Care (Racine) in 2007.  She always felt good enough to go to work and worked each of the days that she gave birth to her three children.  She was a loving, dedicated, caring worker, grandmother, mother and wife and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Her true passion was her family – especially her grandchildren.  She even returned from her home in Florida back to Wisconsin to be nearer to them all.  Her perfect day was watching them in plays, playing the violin and piano, dance recitals, baseball, football, soccer, basketball, picking them up after school, vacations and babysitting – all the things a loving “Nana” does for those she loved most.  She looked forward to watching the Packers and the Brewers and enjoyed many years of volunteering at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Lucy was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church.

In addition to her loving husband Tom of Racine, her survivors include her children, Sue Richer of Milwaukee, Linda (David) Mills of Racine, Tom (Tina) Richer of Kenosha; grandchildren, Matthew Richer, Jonathan, Megan and Connor Mills; sister Joan (William) Felicelli of Howell, MI; brother in law, James (Magda) Richer of San Clemente, CA; as well as aunts and uncle, nieces, cousins and many dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Lucy Catholic Church (3101 Drexel Ave.) on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. for the celebration of her life and funeral mass with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating.  There will be a visitation in the church from 4-6 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lucy’s name may be made to the Chronic Disease Fund.

The Richer family wishes to thank Dr. Hari of Froedtert Hospital as well as his nurses and staff; especially Patty, Sara, Mary, Becky and Chaplain Steve for the loving and quality care extended to Lucy during her illness.

Why does it take just a moment to say hello but a lifetime to say goodbye?

My family picked Draeger , for our Dad, because they did such a wonderful job for my sister and brother in law. I don’t even have the right language skills to tell you how wonderful and compassionate Gary was to our family! He thought of every detail and made it so affordable but yet OUTSTANDING quality! I just can’t say enough about the whole entire process! Thank you Gary! Warren Williams officiated the service and he couldn’t of done a better , more sincere job! Thank you again, Gary!
