Marie Barbara Sutara

Dec 23, 1914 – Jun 8, 2011

   Mrs. Marie B. Sutara, 96, passed away at WFH- All Saints on Wednesday, June 8, 2011.

   She was born in Gross, KS on December 23, 1914, the daughter of William and Frances (nee: Segat) Pancher.  On November 27, 1947, she married Sylvester Sutara in Kenosha, WI.  He preceded her in death on December 22, 1982.  Mrs. Sutara lived in Racine since 1928 with the exception of a ten year residency in California.

   A devout Catholic, Mrs. Sutara attended St. Edward Catholic Church for many years and prayed her rosary daily.    She will be loved and remembered the care she extended toward her family and her dogs, especially Corky and Buddy.                          .

   Known as Aunt Marie by most of her family, she is survived by her nephews and niece, whom she helped raise, William (Barbara) Pucci, David (Marilyn) Pucci, Donna (Gerald) Widmar all of Racine; Sylvester’s nephew, Richard (Cheryl) Thomas of Kenosha; great nephews and nieces, William (Gale) Pucci, Michael (Mary) Pucci, Carolyn (Paul) Nolden, David Pucci, Kristina “Cricket” (Jeff) Anderson, James Pucci, Anthony (Robin) Widmar, Alicia Jasper; great-great nieces and nephews, Sandra Pucci, Stephanie Pucci, Nichole and Tiffany Anderson, Michael, Joseph and Elena Pucci, Annelise and Will Pucci, Jonathan and Lillian Nolden and her sister-in-law, Ann Thomas of Kenosha.

    Mrs. Sutara was also preceded in death by her brothers, William and Herman Pancher; her sister, Justina “Peggy” Isley and her sister-in-law, Alice Pancher.

   Family and friends are invited to meet at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. for a service celebrating Marie’s life and funeral.  Her interment will follow next to her husband at Graceland Cemetery.  There will be a visitation in the funeral home from 10-11 a.m.   Memorials in Mrs. Sutara’s name have been to St. Monica’s Senior Citizen Home.
