Marie J. Fornal

Jan 26, 1918 – Jul 19, 2016

     Marie J. Fornal passed away at Becker-Shoop Center on July 19, 2016 at the age of 98.  Marie was born in Wilson, Michigan on January 26, 1918.  She was united in marriage to Robert B. Fornal on January 8, 1945 in Douglas, Arizona.  Marie was retired from Moxness Products on March 23, 1982 after 22 years.
     Marie is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Pamela Fornal, Roger and Mary Fornal, grandchildren, Michael (Laura), Adam, Ryan (Michelle), Mark Fornal,,David (Bianca) Sanders, and Diane Sanders; great- grandchildren, Nicholas, Corinne, Daniel, Jasmine, Dominick, and Victoria.  She is further survived by her sister Betty Werner, and sister-in-law, Theresa Tyra.  Marie was preceded in death by her husband Robert B. Fornal on January 11, 1992.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Rose Tyra, and two brothers, Ernest and George Tyra, and brother-in-law, Gilbert Werner.
    Private services were held on July 22, 2016.  Entombment was in West Lawn Memorial Park.  The family has suggested memorials to your favorite charity.  The family wishes to thank the staff of the Becker-Shoop Center for all of their wonderful care.  The family also wishes to thank the staff of Marquardt Village Hospice for all of their loving and compassionate care.

I would like to thank Mike Langendorf, Bill Althaus and the rest of the staff for the wonderful celebration of the life for my father Raymond L. Szymanski who was a WWII veteran. I especially appreciate how much you really listen and the questions you asked regarding who my father was and what he was all about. Those details showed up in every part of the service from the flowers, the music, the thank you’s, pictures, obituary, outdoor military honors, etc. etc. My father would have been so grateful for the way you honored his life.
