Oct 31, 1944 – Jul 5, 2025

Service Details

Services celebrating Marie’s life will be held in Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 5:30PM with Pastor Matt James as officiant. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:30PM until the service. To celebrate the vibrant life of Marie, the family invites guests to wear something purple to the service.

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marie Miller, who died on July 5, 2025, at the age of 80.

Marie was born on October 31, 1944, in Racine, WI. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Marie was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She was accepting of everyone, always had an open door for someone in need and had an infectious laugh that could be heard by all. Confined to her bed for the last 5 years, Marie became an avid Wisconsin sports fan and resident expert on General Hospital. She remained quick witted and sharp as a tack, winning over the affection of the staff, especially her favorite nurse Anthony Meilcarek, who quickly became family to her. Previous to her illness, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, baking cookies and bread with homemade apple butter and many trips to the dollar store. She loved camping, swimming, playing pool and having a good time with her friends.

She is survived by her children, Helene “Charlie” (Oscar) De Leon, Renee (Robert) Bauman, Patrick (Kim) Hetchler; grandchildren, Nick & Amanda De Leon, Cassy (Nick) Fisher,  Genna Bauman, Toby Jones,  Cory & Haley Hetchler, Cindy (Ben) McMahon; great grandchildren, Lydia & Brandon De Leon, Ellison Fisher, Booker & Dolly Jones; and great-great grandchildren Leviana and Alexander Martinez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Helene (Eichler) Miller; sister, Daphne LaFaive; brother, John Miller; husbands, Lloyd Spranger and Francis Auger; daughter, Colleen Kane; and grandson, Adam Biddle.

I remember the best times at your house Renee. When we told your mom, Marie that my mom’s name was Joan Bird!!!! That’s a great memory for me! Huge hugs to the entire family

    Hello Miller Family.
You don’t know me, I am Anthony Mielcarek’s mother. It wasn’t until I read the obituaries today, that I knew the identity of your mother, but I wanted you to know how much she meant to my son. He talked of evenings with her, bringing her a banana for a snack, and watching Brewer games together.
He was truly devastated by her passing and will miss her smile and quick wit. I am truly sorry for your loss and know that this has affected our family too.

Testimonials

A huge heart felt thank you!

My Aunt, Alvera Van Brunt, was adamant about not having a funeral; with Mike Langendorf’s skills and refreshing open personality, we were able to meet her desires and also give her family and friends a chance for final goodbyes.
