Marion "Grace" Kosterman

Mar 30, 1917 – Feb 27, 2010

Racine – Marion “Grace” (nee: Zierk) “Ma K.” Kosterman, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Marion Grace was born in Racine on March 30, 1917 to the late Walter and Grace (nee: Lonergan) Zierk. On June 28, 1941 in Holy Name Catholic Church, she was united in marriage with Albert N. Kosterman Sr., who preceded her in death on April 10, 1994. Grace was an extremely proud and tireless homemaker for her and Albert’s nine children. She was a lifetime member of St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church, formerly Holy Name, where she was involved with the Christian Mothers and Altar Society. Grace was also an active volunteer for St. Catherine’s High School and the DeKoven Foundation. Among her interests, she was an accomplished reader and loved to dance – especially to the music of the Roaring 20’s. In retirement, Grace and Albert loved to spend time, particularly in the company of their entire family, at their home on Gilbert Lake in Wild Rose. Surviving are her children, Mary (Dave) Gobis of Racine; Tom (Diane) Kosterman of Waupaca; Judy (John) Melcher, Albert (Vicki) Kosterman Jr., and Jim (Debbie) Kosterman, all of Racine; Karen Kosterman-Clever of Sausalito, CA; Richard (Cathy) Kosterman of Caledonia; and Betty (Don) Kusserow of Wild Rose; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Joan Raschke. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 11:00 am in St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Church, 1509 Grand Ave., with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Monday, March 8th, from 4-7 pm and in the church on Tuesday from 10-11 am. In memory of Grace, memorials to St. Richard Parish for masses has been suggested. A special note of thanks to Harmony Living Center for the compassionate care and support during the past few years.

Testimonials

February 20, 2019

Mike and his team did a fabulous job with the memorial service for our Mom. It was perfect and he made the process easy for me to go through during such a difficult time. She had chosen the funeral home before hand, and she made the right choice. The service was beautiful, simple, and sweet. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
