Mary Ann Thuriot

Jul 24, 1952 – Feb 15, 2010

Mary A. Thuriot, 57, died at her residence on February 15, 2010 following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Mary was born in Kenosha on July 24, 1952, the daughter of the late James and Bernice (nee: Chiappetta) King.  She graduated from St. Joseph High School and attended U.W. Parkside.  On April 28, 1973, she married Richard Thuriot in Racine.

She worked for various companies over the years, most recently U.S. Bank and Modine Manufacturing.  Mary loved gardening and reading mystery novels.  She also treasured her collection of ceramic frogs.  However Mary was happiest in the surroundings of her family, especially her only grandson, Collin.

Mary’s survivors include her husband, Richard “Rick” Thuriot of Racine; son, Paul (Tara Forth) Thuriot of  San Francisco, CA; daughter,  Sarah Thuriot of Columbia Heights, MN; grandson, Collin Thuriot of San Francisco; sisters and brother, Bridget (Scott Smith) King of Milwaukee, Virginia (John Costigan) King of Kenosha, Joanna (Carl) Karlowski of Kenosha, James King of Portland, OR, Anne King of Cedarburg, WI; mother-in-law, Evelyn Thuriot of Racine and nephews, William Eichelberger, Michael Friend and Christopher Friend.  In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Emil Thuriot and sister-in-law, Carol Friend.

Family and friends are welcome to meet at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on February 18, 2010 for a gathering with Mary’s family from 4-7 p.m.  A cremation and private service will take place at a later date following the visitation.  Memorials in Mary’s name have been suggested to the American Cancer Society.

Testimonials

December 19, 2016

I can’t say enough good things about Michael and his staff. They go above and beyond what is required of a funeral home. He has always met my desires and goes beyond what I ask. He always makes it a little more special. He has blessed me and my family many times and comforted us when we are aching because of our loss. I am always confident that he will do his very best, and he always has.
Thank you Michael and staff. May you all have a Blessed Christmas season and New Year

Julie Weyhrauch
