Nadia Margaret Ignasiak

Sturtevant– Nadia Margaret Ignasiak, 2, passed away her home on Wednesday morning, August 5, 2009 following a courageous battle with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. Nadia was a true inspiration to all of us for the strength and determination she had in fighting for her life. Surviving are her parents, Scott and Angela (nee: Pauer) Ignasiak; brothers, Noah and Gabriel; grandparents, Sandra and Patrick Pauer; Sharon and Kenneth Ignasiak; great-grandparents, Gladys Pauer and Albert Kornovich; uncles, Kevin Pauer and Daniel Ignasiak; special friend, Jennifer Kaja; and many, many other dear relatives and friends that Nadia touched in her lifetime. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Sebastian Catholic Church (3126 – 95th St. in Sturtevant) on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11 am. Entombment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7 pm (Service of Remembrance at 7 pm) and in the church on Monday from 10-11 am. In memory of Nadia, memorials to Nadia’s Fight at www.lightthenight.org have been suggested. Special note of thanks to the entire staff of Children’s Hospital HOT Unit for doing everything in the powers to save our precious little Nadia; and for the incredible support during this past year. May God bless all of you! “ Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take…but by the moments that take our breath away!”

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful little girl Nadia! I remember meeting you up on the HOT unit during her last round of chemo before her relapse. I didn’t get to know you guys well but did follow her caringbridge.I wish there was something more I could say but I know nothing no one says right now can take that pain away!! I will be praying for you all as I did for Nadia. Love The Liedke Family
