Nannie was the sweetest woman I have ever met. We worked together and I loved going down to talk to Miss Nannie. I will never forget her wonderful laugh. She loved the students so much she often called them her kids.

My sincere condolence to the family which I am a part of. She was my first cousin and we had had conversations this year but had not seen one another since our younger years which I regret. Yet we had love and things in common, both born in the same year. Love to the other family members. I have kept in touch with her brother David and some other relatives. Love to all. To know Nannie Moore was to love her. A truly beautiful woman of God, inside and out we were blessed to have known her. I remember our conversations on our cruise in March we discussed how grand it would be when we left this old world to be with the Father. No more pain we could leave this old body behind and rejoice every day in glory. We said we didn’t want our family to cry for us but celebrate the life and legacy in each of you who we lovingly call Mom,. My heartfelt condolences for my family and friends may the Holy Spirit give you comfort and strength. I look forward to seeing her again.

You all were blessed to have Nannie. She touched so many lives. Whenever I seen her she treated my boys and myself like her very own. I would see her at the 4th family picnic and she would hand out $2 bills to all the kids. Her heart was very genuine and pure. Her smile lit up the church and Gateway when I was there. I made it my business to go see her because that’s the only time I could. I wish I could have been around a lot more. I still can feel her kiss my cheek. I loved to see her at church in her white. She was sharp as they say. We love you and now your work is done here in this temporary place. I know you’re sitting in the house of many mansions.

    Love always,
    Shevon Smith and family
