Norbert H. Klinkhammer

vet
Jan 11, 1925 – Dec 21, 2009

Racine – Norbert H. Klinkhammer, 84, passed away at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee on Monday, December 21, 2009. A lifetime resident, Norbert was born in Racine on January 11, 1925 to the late Joseph and Christine (nee: Fredelake) Klinkhammer. Following graduation from Washington Park High School in 1943, he faithfully served our Country with the United States Army in WWII. He was taken Prisoner of War in Italy until his brave escape in 1945. On February 1, 1947 in Holy Name Catholic Church, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Flora L. LaRose. Norbert served our community as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring in 1979. He was a longtime member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church, formerly Holy Name. Norbert was also a proud member of the American Legion. Among his interests, he enjoyed fishing – especially in Holcombe, WI; metal detecting; and was a Notre Dame football fan. Above all, Norbert loved nothing more than being in the surroundings of his entire family. Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 63 years, Flora; daughters, Barbara (David) Rudin of Racine and Beverly (Joe) Paricka of Waterloo, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Charla Klinkhammer of Racine; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren (was anxiously awaiting the birth of two more); sisters, Betty (Stan) Wielgat and Joyce (Paul) Emmons; brother, Tom (Arline) Klinkhammer; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Klinkhammer, Iva Ager and Florence Steffen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention by name. In addition to his parents, Norbert was preceded in death by his beloved sons, Ronald (and his wife, Catherine) Klinkhammer and Norbert B. “Norby” Klinkhammer; and brother, Al Klinkhammer. Funeral services will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Saturday from 11 am – 1 pm. Private interment, with military honors, will take place in the S. Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. A special note of thanks to the fine men and women of Racine Police & Fire Departments for the compassionate care and gentle assistance in our time of need. May God bless all of you!

Testimonials

December 18, 2024

Words cannot even begin to express the tremendous gratitude our family has for a team like the one at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home & Crematory. Thank you for the gentle lovely care over our mother Delia (Rosa) Balderas. Never having had a direct experience with a funeral home to this extent we didn’t know what to expect. We didn’t have a clue that they would step right in and have the most comforting team surrounding us that thought of ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING for anyone in our position. It was very evident from the first discussion on the phone that they were already well prepared to handle every little detail for us that we weren’t even aware would be required. Mark and his team truly eased so much of the unknown worries right out of our path, and left room for us to just focus on the small personal details we wanted for our mom. It was nice to know that all cost involved was in black and white on their site as well as on paper at our first meeting. Leaving no room for question or doubt what so ever with any fee involved. It was truly a blessing to have everything written out so well and simplified with various price range options in a time that we needed crystal clear direction. Its been beautiful to see that their care and service didn’t stop after our mom’s service came to an end. They continue to be in communication with immediate responses as questions arise along the way. God bless Mark, and the entire compassionate team, to be around to guide many many more for generations to come through life’s most difficult times. You are all truly amazing.
