Patricia Ann Leisner

Mar 25, 1931 – Mar 21, 2011

Racine– Patricia Ann (nee: Arndt) Leisner, 79, passed away peacefully at Ridgewood Care Center on Monday,March 21, 2011. 

Patricia was born in Racine, WI on March 25, 1931 to the late Matthew and Clara (nee: Richow) Arndt.  She graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1949”. On February 9, 1957 at Trinity Methodist Church, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Marshall William Leisner, who preceded her in death on January 23, 2007. During her career, she was employed by SC Johnson Wax and Job Service Unemployment Office, from where she retired. 

With a profound Christian faith, Pat enjoyed worshiping at Grace Church and Praise Fellowship Ministries. Among her interests, she enjoyed reading her Bible and singing.  She was also extremely Patriotic and proud of her Country; aGreen Bay Packer fanatic; had a special taste for fish, pizza and Culver’s Blueberry concrete mixers; could bake chocolate chip cookies like nobody else; and treasured being in the surroundings of her entire family and extensive circle of friends.  She also loved attending musical venues with the Cheryl McCrary & “Heir-Born Praise Band” music ministry, where her son, Steve, plays bass guitar. 

Surviving are her sons, Scott Leisner of Toledo, OH and Steve Leisner of Racine; sister, Margie Ormond; sister-in-law, Carol (Tom) Waddle; brothers-in-law, Robert (Lynn) Leisner and Lyle (Kathy) Leisner; nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred (Russ) Heckel; and brother-in-law, Roy Ormond. 

Funeral Services will be held at Grace Church, 3626 Highway 31, on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 11:00 am with visitation from 9am-11am.  Pastor Sam Jackson and Ministers Mike and Cheryl McCrary will officiate.  A luncheon / reception will follow.  Prayers of committal will be offered in the chapel of Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery – Union Grove on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 10:00 am.  In memory of Pat, memorials to Grace Church has been suggested. 

A special note of thanks to Wheaton Franciscan and Ridgewood Care Center for the compassionate care and support.  Also, to everyone from Grace Church & Praise Fellowship for the many prayers and acts of kindness offered during our time of need. May God bless all of you!

Thank you so very much for the exemplary care that you provided for both our mom and dad. Your family is extremely kind and exudes much empathy towards others. You and your staff display much professionalism with great talent and attention to detail. Mom and dad were always very particular in their appearance. Mom would say, You are leaving a lasting impression of yourself with someone to remember you by. Your parents taught you boys well; be very proud of that! Love on them, as death is so very permanent.

Holly and I are officially orphans now. It is people like your family and David Huck being there for us, that bring comfort when you are going through one of the most difficult challenges life throws at you.

I thank God every day for our Ostergaard family and will always cherish the memories.
