Patrick Joseph Leigh

Apr 11, 1949 – Aug 6, 2022

Service Details

In keeping with Patrick’s wish, a private service will be held.

Patrick J. Leigh, 73, of Kenosha, passed away at Froedtert South-Pleasant Prairie Campus on August 6, 2022. He was born in Oconto, WI on April 11, 1949, the son of the late Chester and Betty (nee: George) Leigh. Pat grew up on the family dairy farm in Oconto Co, Wisconsin.  It was a home that suited him. He liked the out-of-doors, farm life, and he had a close-knit family.  Pat started helping his father on the farm at an early age and was always a good worker.

Pat enjoyed his friends at Louisville school; he was friendly, a good student, and athletically inclined.  Pat was close to his paternal grandparents and his uncles, Wesley and John Leigh.  When the family moved to Kenosha, Pat continued to spend summers “up north” as a teenager working and living on his uncles’ farms.  All his life, Pat held his memory of the farm and those times close to his heart.

He graduated from Bradford High School and later married his high school sweetheart, Betsy Bahrke.  They were blessed with the birth of a son, Brian Patrick Leigh. The family lived in Green Bay for several years before moving to Portland Oregon in 1979.  Pat worked as a systems analyst at Nike and Benson Industries.   The family was always on the go, traveling and enjoying many outdoor adventures including biking, rafting, golfing, hiking, and skiing.

Patrick moved back to Wisconsin 1998, met and later married Margaret “Marge” Harapetian on January 30, 2004.  He and Marge lived in Lena, WI, where worked for Cruiser Yachts as a skilled finish carpenter.  He and Marge enjoyed spending time in the garden and visiting with family and friends.

After Marge’s passing, Patrick moved to Ft Wayne, IN and shared many holidays and special times with his sister, Cynthia, niece Holly, and nephew Douglas Rhodes’ family before moving back to Kenosha.

Surviving are his son, Brian P. Leigh, of Union, Oregon, two grandchildren, Hannah and Tyler (Taryn)  of LaGrande, Oregon; stepchildren, Jake (Ann) Harapetian, of Gillette, WI, and Elizabeth (Dan) Kennow, of Racine, WI;  nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Isabella, Alex, Alyssa, Andrew, Emily, Jacob, Hanna and Tyler one brother, Michael (Esther) Leigh, of Pleasant Prairie, and three sisters, Cynthia Leigh, of Ft. Wayne,  IN, Becky (Glen) Mattox, and Jennifer (Robert) Blasi, all of Kenosha. His nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive him. In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by his second wife, Margaret “Marge” Leigh, and his brother, Kevin Leigh.

OMG. It’s been almost a year and I just heard. I just want to offer my condolences. I met Pat at cruisers and joined in many family reunions even though I’m not related. Got to know Pat and his family very well. I will miss seeing him at the Shiloh.

Testimonials

November 13, 2019

I just can’t get over how beautiful everything was for my mom’s funeral. She had a rough last four weeks but your amazing team totally did her justice! I was pretty confused during that hard time, but Brian, you made sure that all the “I”s were dotted and all the “T”s crossed. For that, I thank you. I also would like to thank the amazing team of makeup artists. My mom looked beautiful.
